Vestibular/Dizziness Care
Did you know that Physical Therapists play a primary role in the treatment of Dizziness and Vertigo? There are different types of dizziness including Vertigo, Disequilibrium, Pre-syncope, and Non-specific Dizziness. Many of these unpleasant sensations relate back to the inner-ear (vestibular) system. Whether you woke up one day with an extreme room-spinning sensation, or you are now noticing that when you walk down a wide corridor you have trouble walking a straight line, Thrive Aging and Wellness can help! Some dizziness issues can even be completely cured in just 1-2 treatment sessions!
Home Safety Assessments
Aging in place is a common and desirable options for many older adults. We want to maintain our independence and remain at home as long as possible. Unfortunately as we age, living in a home that does not have the appropriate adaptive equipment or floor plan can mean falls and avoidable accidents. Thrive Aging and Wellness is here to help! Our Home Safety Assessment Packages include an initial assessment of the client’s mobility as well as the client’s home. We then discuss the results with the client to come up with a plan together as to how to be as safe as possible at home. The therapist will then order all adaptive equipment that the therapist and client agreed upon and assist in any planning of home modifications that the client wishes to pursue. Once all adaptive equipment has been installed, the therapist will re-assess the home and the client’s mobility within the home to ensure proper use, safety and that the client is satisfied.
